Low Carbon Transportation
The overall economic vitality and social equity of a community and region depend on their pattern and quality of development and how well they are served by the transportation system. In addition, transportation sources historically have accounted for a large percentage of the air, water and climate pollution generated in most communities.
This element of the SCLA – including the Climate Leadership Academy on Low Carbon Transportation and the Climate Leadership Academy on Accelerating Bus Rapid Transit – helps communities develop and implement transportation strategies, plans, policies and practices that help sustainable communities enhance economic prosperity, environmental quality and social equity.
